Alan McMeekin

Managing Director and Senior Vice President, European Operations

 

Alan McMeekin joined Norbord in 1999. In his time with the company, he has held senior posts including Financial Controller and Finance & Logistics Director. A qualified Chartered Accountant, Alan’s prior career experience includes engineering and auditing. In his current role, he has overall responsibility for the operation and financial performance of Norbord's four European sites, which employ over 900 staff. Alan is married and has two children.

Simon Woods

European Sales, Marketing and Logistics Director

 

Simon joined Norbord in 2017 as European Sales, Marketing and Logistics Director.  Prior to joining the business he held senior posts with major Construction product manufacturing businesses, including Bostik (Adhesives), Twyford (Bathroom Sanitary Ware) and Icopal (Roofing Materials).  Simon is married and has two children.

 

George Webb

Purchasing Director

 

A graduate in Forestry from the University of Aberdeen, George has 28 years’ experience in the wood panel industry. In his current role he has overall responsibility for all purchasing across the Norbord European operations. Throughout his career George has been actively involved in the wider UK forest industry and is past chariman and current board member of Confor (Confederation of Forest Industries).

Steve Roebuck

Director - Environment, Health, Safety and Human Resources

 

Steve Roebuck joined Norbord in 1999 and has held senior management positions including Group Technical Manager and Director of Health, Safety & Environmental Affairs. A Chartered Engineer with extensive experience in the panel and paper industries, Steve holds an honours degree in Material Science & Technology. Outside of work, he is married with two children and is a keen sportsman. As well as being a Youth Football Coach, he is Director of the governing body for Canoesport in Scotland. He is also a passionate Manchester United and England Cricket fan.  

Themia Hastie

General Manager - Supply Chain & IT

 

Themia Hastie rejoined Norbord in 1999 in the role of Group IT Manager responsible for European IT Operations. In 2006 Themia was appointed the role of General Manager - Supply Chain & IT with an overall responsibility of the logistical operation across Norbord's three panel producing facilities. With extensive experience as an IT Consultant, Themia has worked in the Manufacturing, Leisure and Textile industries. Themia is married with two sons.

 

Nick Fedo

General Manager – Cowie Site

 

Nick Fedo joined Norbord in 2016. He has had an extensive career in manufacturing with over 38 years experience in the Paper Industry.

He has held senior management roles in operations, technical and supply chain.

 

He was appointed general manager of Norbord’s Cowie site in 2016. Nick is married with 3 children.

 

 

Guido Kuypers

General Manager – Genk Site

 

Guido Kuypers joined Norbord in 2009 as a production manager. He has over 9 years experience as General Manager in different industries. He graduated as an engineer in chemistry and later acheived a Masters in Business Administration.

Jerry Jones

General Manager - Inverness Site

 

Jerry Jones joined Norbord in 2012.  Jerry has over 23 years’ experience in composite panels since graduating from Mississippi State University with degrees in Wood Science and Technology and Business Management.  Jerry was appointed General Manager at Norbord’s Inverness site in 2012 and moved his wife Becky and daughter Faith into the Highlands of Scotland at this time.  Jerry and Becky have one other daughter living in the states planning to attend University upon graduating from High School.

Maurice Fitzgibbon

Commerical Director
 
Maurice Fitzgibbon joined Norbord in 1992 having been with Tarmac Plc. for the previous 12 years as Sales Director of the Roofing Products Division. During his career with Norbord he has seen Norbord products supplied extensively to many of the UK's market leaders in the fields of builders merchanting, DIY retailing, national housebuilding and furniture manufacturing. Particularly UK builders merchanting where he now has over 30 years' experience. In addition to his role as Commercial Director, Maurice is a Trustee of the Norbord Pension Fund and an active member of the Kings Park Community Council in Stirling where he lives. 

Andrew Francis

Sales Director

 

Andrew Francis joined Norbord in 2002 and worked as Commercial Manager for OSB and Area Sales Manager for the North region before taking up his current post. Andrew has over 20 years’ experience within the building materials industry and has worked within the retail, trade and management sides of the business. Andrew holds a Certificate in Business Management and is an Associate of the Institute of Wood Science. He is a keen mountain biker and gets out on the trails whenever the opportunity arises.  

Reiner Kohlwey

General Sales Manager (Germany)

 

Reiner Kohlwey joined Norbord the first time in 1991 for 10 years; he was there when OSB was promoted the first time in Germany, Austria or Switzerland. After a break of 7 years, Reiner rejoined Norbord in 2008 as Market Manager for D/A/CH countries. His wood experiences started in 1980 working for a company with sawmill timber merchant and carpentry business units. Business with wood has been part of most of his working life and he holds a diploma for sales and marketing. Reiner is married and has two boys, he enjoys wintertime skiing and soaking up the sun in summer, whenever possible. 

 

Mark Popplewell

General Sales Manager

 

Mark Popplewell joined Norbord in 1992 as General Sales Manager for the Added Value products manufactured at South Molton.  Prior to this he gained extensive sales experience in the packaging sector serving many different industries. Mark graduated from Manchester University with an honours degree in Management Science. He is a keen supporter of local sports clubs.
